The Global Tree Planting Campaign was officially launched on August 3, 2026, in collaboration with the Laudato Si' Movement (LSM), inspired by the vision of Pope Francis' Encyclical Laudato Si': On Care for Our Common Home.

The campaign runs from August 3, 2026, to August 2, 2027, encouraging young people and the faithful across the globe to plant trees in their local communities and share their activities on the Official Global Tree Planting Map (Padlet). Through this collective effort, participants contribute not only to expanding natural carbon sinks but also to offsetting the carbon emissions associated with international travel for World Youth Day Seoul 2027.

Tree-planting activities from around the world will be recorded and displayed on a global ecological map, contributing to a lasting ecological legacy.
